Venous Test

This test requires a venous blood sample collected by a trained phlebotomist—it cannot be done with a finger-prick at home. You'll receive a collection kit containing everything the phlebotomist needs.

Your Options:

  • Find a Local Clinic: Contact our support team and we'll help you locate a nearby clinic with qualified staff.
  • Make Your Own Arrangements: You're welcome to arrange collection with any qualified phlebotomist or clinic of your choice.

Please Note: The phlebotomy service (blood draw) is not included in the test price. Clinics typically charge £20–£50 for this service. Please confirm the fee when booking your appointment.

Results show specific IgE levels (kUA/L) classified from Class 0–6:

Class 0: Negative (<0.35) Class 1: Low (0.35–0.69) Class 2–3: Moderate (0.70–17.49) Class 4–6: High (≥17.50)

Note: Positive results indicate sensitisation, not necessarily clinical allergy. Interpret results with your healthcare provider alongside your symptoms.

No Fasting Required: You can eat and drink normally before your blood draw.

Antihistamines: You can continue taking antihistamines—they do not affect IgE blood test results.

Steroids: Long-term oral steroids may lower IgE levels. Discuss with your doctor if you're on steroid medication.

Timing: Collect your sample Monday–Wednesday to ensure it reaches the lab promptly. Avoid posting before bank holidays.

Medical Disclaimer

This test measures IgE antibodies to your chosen allergens. Results indicate sensitisation but should be interpreted alongside your clinical symptoms and medical history. A positive result does not automatically mean you will experience symptoms when exposed to that allergen.

This test is suitable for targeted screening when you have specific suspected triggers. For comprehensive allergy assessment or if you're unsure which allergens to test, consider one of our pre-designed allergy profiles or consult an allergy specialist.

Medical Disclaimer

This test is for screening and information only — it is not a medical diagnosis or professional advice. Please have your results reviewed by a qualified doctor or healthcare provider.
