This home sample collection kit measures Hepatitis B Surface Antibodies (anti-HBs) in your blood to determine whether you have immunity to the Hepatitis B virus. Immunity can develop either from a previous Hepatitis B infection that your body successfully cleared, or from vaccination. The test is commonly used to confirm whether your Hepatitis B vaccination has been effective and whether you need a booster dose.

This test is particularly important for healthcare workers, laboratory staff, emergency responders, and anyone who may be exposed to blood or bodily fluids in their occupation. It's also useful for individuals who were vaccinated in the past and need to verify their current immunity status, or for those who have recovered from a Hepatitis B infection and want to confirm they are now immune.

What's covered in the price: Your kit includes a single-use lancet, a micro collection tube, alcohol wipes, a plaster, clear instructions, and a prepaid return envelope. Simply collect your finger-prick sample at home and post it back to our laboratory using the freepost envelope provided.

No Fasting Required: There are no fasting requirements for this test. You may eat and drink normally before collecting your sample. Post-Vaccination Testing: If you're testing after vaccination, wait at least 4–8 weeks after your final dose before testing. This allows sufficient time for your immune system to produce detectable antibodies. Understanding Your Results: An antibody level of 10 mIU/mL or above is generally considered protective. Levels below this threshold may indicate the need for a booster vaccination. Your healthcare provider can advise on the appropriate course of action based on your results and risk factors. Occupational Requirements: Many employers in healthcare and related fields require documented proof of Hepatitis B immunity. Keep a copy of your results for your occupational health records.

Hepatitis B Surface Antibodies (anti-HBs) are proteins produced by your immune system in response to the Hepatitis B surface antigen—either from vaccination or from natural infection that has been cleared. The presence of these antibodies indicates immunity to Hepatitis B. A level of 10 mIU/mL or higher is generally considered protective against future infection. If your antibody levels are below this threshold after vaccination, you may need a booster dose. This test does not indicate current infection; it only measures your immune protection against future infection.
