The Coronavirus Antibody Blood Test Kit provides a comprehensive assessment of your immune response to COVID-19 by measuring SARS-CoV-2 spike protein antibodies. This convenient home finger-prick test allows you to evaluate your antibody levels following coronavirus infection or vaccination from the comfort of your home.

This test is ideal for individuals seeking to verify their vaccination response, assess their ongoing immunity, confirm previous exposure to the virus, or track antibody persistence over time. Results provide both a qualitative result (positive or negative) and a quantitative measurement of antibody concentration.

Timing After Infection: If you have recently had COVID-19 symptoms, wait at least 14 days after symptom onset before taking this test. This allows sufficient time for antibodies to develop to detectable levels. Timing After Vaccination: For accurate assessment of your vaccine response, wait at least 21 days after your vaccination before collecting your sample. Antibody levels typically peak 2–4 weeks after vaccination. Timing After Exposure: If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 but did not develop symptoms, wait at least 21 days after the exposure before testing to allow time for any antibody response to develop. Test Limitations: This test detects antibodies and is not suitable for diagnosing active COVID-19 infection. If you currently have symptoms, you should seek a PCR or antigen test instead. This test may not detect antibodies in people with weakened immune systems, and a positive result does not guarantee immunity to future infections. Interpreting Results: A positive result indicates that you have developed antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, either from infection or vaccination. A negative result means antibodies were not detected at the time of testing, which could indicate no prior infection or vaccination, testing too soon, or antibody levels below the detection threshold.

This test measures antibodies that target the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The spike protein is the part of the virus that attaches to human cells and is the target of all currently approved COVID-19 vaccines. Antibodies against the spike protein are considered particularly important because they can neutralise the virus and prevent infection. Qualitative and Quantitative Results: This test provides both a qualitative result (positive or negative) and a quantitative measurement of antibody concentration. The quantitative result is reported in binding antibody units per millilitre (BAU/mL), allowing you to track changes in your antibody levels over time. What Positive Means: A positive result indicates that you have developed antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. These antibodies may have developed in response to COVID-19 infection, COVID-19 vaccination, or both. Spike protein antibodies are produced following all currently approved vaccines. What Negative Means: A negative result means spike protein antibodies were not detected. This could indicate no prior infection or vaccination, testing too soon after infection or vaccination (antibodies may take 2–3 weeks to develop), antibody levels that have waned below the detection threshold, or immunocompromised status affecting antibody production. Important Note: While antibodies indicate an immune response, the level of antibodies required for protection is not definitively established. A positive result does not guarantee immunity, and a negative result does not necessarily mean you are unprotected, as cellular immunity (T-cell response) also plays a role in protection. Results should be interpreted by a healthcare professional.

Frequently asked questions

It means your immune system has been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 — either through infection, vaccination, or both. Antibody levels decline over time and do not directly correlate with protection from future infection.

No. Antibody tests detect past exposure, not current infection. For diagnosing active COVID, a PCR or lateral flow test is needed.
