Get peace of mind about your baby's health with over 99% accuracy. Using just a simple blood sample from you, VERACITY screens for chromosomal conditions like Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, and Patau syndrome—much more accurate than the standard NHS screening.

VERACITY uses advanced technology to analyse your baby's DNA that naturally circulates in your blood. It's completely safe for both you and your baby—no needles anywhere near your bump, no risk of miscarriage. You can have it done from just 10 weeks into your pregnancy.

Whether you're having one baby, twins, or conceived through IVF, this test works for you. And depending on which package you choose, you can also find out your baby's gender and screen for additional conditions.

Why Choose VERACITY?

  • Screen from 10 weeks – Get answers early in your pregnancy
  • Just a blood sample from you – No needles near your baby, no risk of miscarriage
  • Over 99% accurate – Much more reliable than standard NHS screening
  • Works for twins and IVF pregnancies
  • Results in about a week – 7 working days from sample arrival at the lab
  • Find out the gender – Available with most packages

How Does It Compare to NHS Screening?

The NHS combined screening (ultrasound plus blood analysis) picks up about 85% of babies with Down syndrome. VERACITY detects over 99%. That higher accuracy means you're less likely to face the stress of a "high risk" result that turns out to be wrong—and less likely to need follow-up procedures like amniocentesis, which carry a small risk of miscarriage.

Results in about 7 working days

Results are available within 7 working days from the sample arriving at the laboratory. Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive your results from the date of purchase.

Quick note: Make sure you fill in the document with your details and send it back with the test kit. Use the prepaid envelope provided to send your sample back to our UK address.

How It Works

We'll send you a collection kit containing blood collection tubes, simple instructions, and a prepaid return envelope. You'll need to visit a local clinic or phlebotomy service to have a venous blood sample taken—it's quick and straightforward, just like a normal blood test.

Please note: The blood draw fee is separate and paid directly to the clinic. Phlebotomy typically costs £20–£40 depending on your chosen provider.

Good to Know

VERACITY is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. It tells you the likelihood of a condition being present—but it can't say for certain. If your results show an increased chance of any condition, your healthcare team may recommend a diagnostic procedure like amniocentesis or CVS to confirm.

We really recommend talking through your results with your midwife, GP, or consultant. They can explain what everything means and support you with any decisions you might need to make.

Timing: Available from 10 weeks of pregnancy. Your exact gestational age will be confirmed before testing.

Venous Blood Sample: This test requires a venous blood sample from the mother, taken by a phlebotomist at a partner clinic. Phlebotomy charges may apply.

No Fasting Required: You can eat and drink normally before your appointment.

Results Timing: Results are typically available within 5-7 working days.

Important Limitations: NIPT is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. A high-risk result should be confirmed with invasive testing (amniocentesis or CVS) before any irreversible decisions are made. A low-risk result is very reassuring but does not guarantee a healthy baby. Discuss results with your obstetrician or midwife.
