This comprehensive STI screen combines blood testing with multisite PCR swabs to check for the most important sexually transmitted infections. It's designed for men who have sex with men (MSM) and others who want thorough screening that includes throat and rectal sites—areas often missed by standard urine-only tests.

The test screens for HIV and Syphilis through a finger-prick blood sample, plus Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea at three sites: urine (for urethral infection), throat, and rectum. This multisite approach is important because infections at throat and rectal sites often have no symptoms and wouldn't be detected by a standard urine test alone.

Everything can be collected at home using our self-collection kit. No clinic visit required—just collect your samples in private and post them back to us.

Window Periods: Different infections have different window periods—the time between exposure and when the test can detect infection: If you've had very recent potential exposure, consider retesting after the appropriate window period. Urine Collection: Collect the first part of your urine stream (first-catch urine). Do not urinate for at least 1 hour before collection. Throat and Rectal Swabs: Do not eat, drink, or brush your teeth for 30 minutes before collecting your throat swab. For rectal swabs, do not use lubricants before collection. Antibiotics: If you are currently taking antibiotics or have taken them in the past 2 weeks, this may affect your PCR results. Consider testing after completing your course of antibiotics. If You Have Symptoms: If you have symptoms such as discharge, sores, pain, or flu-like illness, we recommend visiting your GP or local sexual health clinic for a face-to-face assessment in addition to this test.

This PCR test detects Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae DNA in your urine sample, identifying urethral infections. Chlamydia is the most common bacterial STI in the UK, while gonorrhoea is the second most common. Both can cause discharge and painful urination, but many infections are asymptomatic. Untreated infections can lead to complications including epididymitis in men. Both are easily treated with antibiotics.

Pharyngeal (throat) infections with chlamydia and gonorrhoea are common following oral sex and are almost always asymptomatic—you won't know you have them without testing. Throat infections can be a source of transmission to partners and won't be detected by urine testing alone. This is why multisite testing is recommended for anyone who has had oral sex.

Rectal infections with chlamydia and gonorrhoea are common following receptive anal sex. Symptoms may include rectal discharge, discomfort, or bleeding, but many infections are asymptomatic. Rectal infections can be a source of transmission and won't be detected by urine testing. Certain strains of rectal chlamydia can cause lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), a more serious infection requiring longer antibiotic treatment.
