    Description

This comprehensive eczema and atopic dermatitis panel tests for IgE antibodies to the most common allergens known to trigger or worsen skin symptoms. It's designed for people with eczema who suspect that allergies may be contributing to their flare-ups, particularly when standard treatments aren't fully controlling symptoms.

What's covered in the price: You receive a venous blood collection kit and professional laboratory analysis covering Total IgE plus specific IgE testing for 14 allergens including common food triggers (milk, eggs, wheat, soya, fish, nuts), environmental allergens (dust mites, pets, pollens), and other common eczema triggers. Results within 2 working days.

Analysed at a UKAS accredited laboratory meeting ISO 15189 standards.

Action Required: Once your order confirmation arrives, please reply to the email with your date of birth. This helps us process your order quickly and avoid any delays.

    Venous Test

This test requires a venous blood sample collected by a trained phlebotomist—it cannot be done with a finger-prick at home. You'll receive a collection kit containing everything the phlebotomist needs.

    Your Options:

    • Find a Local Clinic: Contact our support team and we'll help you locate a nearby clinic with qualified staff.
    • Make Your Own Arrangements: You're welcome to arrange collection with any qualified phlebotomist or clinic of your choice.

Please Note: The phlebotomy service (blood draw) is not included in the test price. Clinics typically charge £20–£50 for this service. Please confirm the fee when booking your appointment.

    House Dust

    Dust Mite (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus)

    Animal Dander

    2

    Cat Dander, Dog Dander

    🌳

    Pollens

    2

    Timothy Grass, Common Silver Birch

Why these allergens? Research shows that food allergies affect up to 30% of children with moderate-to-severe eczema. House dust mites and animal dander are also common triggers that can worsen skin symptoms through both direct contact and airborne exposure.

Results show specific IgE levels (kUA/L) classified from Class 0–6:

    Class 0: Negative (<0.35) Class 1: Low (0.35–0.69) Class 2–3: Moderate (0.70–17.49) Class 4–6: High (≥17.50)

Note: Positive results indicate sensitisation, not necessarily that the allergen is causing your eczema. Many people with eczema have elevated IgE levels without food allergy being a trigger. Interpret results with your dermatologist or allergy specialist.

No Fasting Required: You can eat and drink normally before your blood draw.

Antihistamines: You can continue taking antihistamines—they do not affect IgE blood test results.

Topical Treatments: Continue using your emollients and topical steroids as prescribed—they do not affect IgE testing.

Oral Steroids: Long-term oral steroids may lower IgE levels. Discuss with your doctor if you're on systemic steroid medication.

Timing: Collect your sample Monday–Wednesday to ensure it reaches the lab promptly. Avoid posting before bank holidays.

    Medical Disclaimer

This test measures IgE antibodies to common eczema-associated allergens. Results indicate sensitisation but should be interpreted alongside your clinical symptoms and medical history. Eczema is a complex condition with multiple triggers—allergy testing is just one piece of the puzzle.

Do not eliminate foods from your diet (or your child's diet) based solely on these results. Unnecessary food elimination can lead to nutritional deficiencies and may increase the risk of developing clinical food allergy. For suspected food-triggered eczema, we recommend specialist assessment including supervised food challenges before making dietary changes.
